semi-annual blog post

Well it seems that I have a rather difficult time keeping this thing current!! For those of you that try to follow our life, we have moved again...yes again. So now we are settled into Fort Worth, Texas in a cute little house only 5 minutes to downtown! Hooray. I also have a broken wrist, the result of an unfourtunate car accident just before Christmas. Needless to say, my left hand is becoming extremely over used! Wyatt is turning out to be quite the toddler indeed. At 19 months he seems to be talking alot! Maybe since I am home with him all day it seems that we carry on decent conversations....his words include: piggy toes, hair, eyes, cheeks, teeth, mouth (um yes we are learning body parts), thank you, no, mine (thanks to Noah! ha ha ha), nigh nigh, sou sou (his soother), money (monkey), ellie, blankie, choo choo, show, boots, sockies....well you get the idea, he talks. Anyway, other than that I guess its difficult to catch up on everything since August. Motherhood is good, and no, we are not ready for another one!....yet. :)

13 months going on....14 months

Well its true...Wyatt is every bit of a one year old as well, a one year old. He is quietly mastering the skill of walking, on his own little agenda. At 13 months, his modes of transportation include a solid mix between crawling, walking, shopping carts and of course his stuffed wooden horse. This age is actually pretty adorable as Wyatt has turned into quite the copy cat....blowing kisses, waving bye bye, going ooh ooh, mama, dada, nah, yah, and more recently nooooo (when I tried to take his rake away at the beach). He gives hugs and pats mamas back, he loves to play "I.m gonna get you" with dada. In fact when Wyatt hears the front door, he sits up where ever he is and says DADA, and then crawls laughing to the front door and then crawls away as fast as he can looking behind him (with those come get me eyes). In more fantastic news, Wyatt gave us his own 13 month birthday present...sleeping through the NIGHT! In his own crib! Yes its amazing....for me and him! Sleep has never felt so wonderful. We put him in his crib for naps and nigh nigh with his little Ellie-poo and voila, he goes to sleep! He is still nursing and probobly plans to for a while, he loves mac and cheese, blueberries, picking the cheese out of a grilled chesses sandwhich and anything that mama or dada is eating. He loves the water, the beach, the grass, his toys, the computer (its hard to type with a monkey at your feet). So with that, adios. Watch the video, be patient and he will walk.

Movin and groovin

Well one more day and we will be official home owners! Of course Wyatt loves to help mama pack..."help" being the operative word here. His favorite thing to do...pull everything out of drawers, unfold the laundry and make any sort of mess possible...whether involving food, clothes, toys or otherwise. Moving is never a fun task to begin with, but chasing around a speedy crawler really puts a damper on the amount of time available for productive packing...as you can see, if only I could pack this little guy up for a while...I might just be able to get something done around here!

Idealism is for idealists

Okay. So Wyatt is 9 and a half months old. We have a problem. He still sleeps in our bed and he still wakes up between every 2-3 hours. So yah. Sometimes you have to re-evaluate. Sometimes you try things and they don't work. Sometimes you have all these hopes of how good your baby will be and how you will never do anything that could cause him "harm". Well after 9 months of sleep deprivation in this house...actually lets be honest, I didn't sleep when I was pregnanat either...Okay, so after 18 months of sleep deprivation, sometimes your ideas have to change. So we did it, we let little Wyatt cry. I think listening to your little baby cry, no wait scream, is one of the hardest, most heartbreaking thing to do. 45 minutes. Then he slept. Not through the night like we hoped. For one hour! So digress...he was back in our bed. Next night....20 minutes of crying. Slept for 2 hours. Next night 2 minutes of crying. Slept for 2 hours. But then last night, 1 hour of crying, 1 hour of sleep. I can't say this is really working. I am giving it 2 weeks to take "effect". We are desperate. Desperate for sleep, desperate for our baby to sleep. Desperate to have our bed back and not worry that Wyatt is doing to dive off it in the middle of the night. I will say that beyond the immediate sadness of letting him cry. When he is awake, he does seem to still love me and trust me, which is one of my biggest fears of letting him cry. When he wakes up, I am there for him, there to cuddle and play. I just hope this works...

Jakey and Wyatt

What are little boys made of? Puppy dog tails and such...at least that is what they tell me!
